MEET THE ORCHESTRA

GEORGE MACERO | cello

George Macero attended Queens College and New York University, where he studied cello with Nathan Stutch, Assistant Principal Cellist of the New York Philharmonic. Mr. Macero performed the Beethoven Triple Concerto as the winner of the Queens College concerto competition. He was a section member of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra for more than three decades also performing as a soloist with the SSO. Mr. Macero has played as a regular soloist and chamber musician with the Society for New Music and is a founding member of the Clinton String Quartet. He also served as a cello instructor at both OCC and Hamilton College. Mr. Macero is currently a member of Symphoria and continues to maintain a private teaching studio in Syracuse, New York.
