YOOJIN LEE | violin

Yoojin Lee’s musical journey is a symphony of relentless dedication and exceptional artistry,
resonating through the strings of her violin.
Yoojin Lee’s commitment to her craft was nurtured at the Korea National University of Arts.
Here, she earned her Master of Music in Classical Violin, studying under the esteemed guidance
of Nam Yun Kim and Takashi Shimizu. Her Bachelor of Music in Classical Violin, enriched by
the prestigious President Award, was a testament to her diligence and was cultivated under the
mentorship of Nam Yun Kim and Koichiro Harada.
Her thirst for knowledge led her to the revered Manhattan School of Music. There, she embarked
on an enriching journey, earning an Artist Diploma in Classical Violin under Sheryl Staples after
her Professional Performance Diploma in Classical Violin studying with Koichiro Harada and
Sheryl Staples.
Lee’s solo performances have captivated audiences worldwide. Her solo performance with the
Gangneung Symphony Orchestra in 2022 and her enchanting Solo Recital at Kukje Art Hall in
Seoul, South Korea, in 2019, echoed her virtuosity. Her debut concert at “The 82nd Chosun Ilbo
Concert” in 2019 marked her arrival as an artist of remarkable prowess. Her participation in the
Winner Tour Concert with the KBS Symphony Orchestra in 2017 underscored her status as a
soloist of profound depth.
Lee’s musical resonance extends beyond solos into ensembles. Noteworthy ensemble
achievements include her Semi-finalist position in the Fischoff Chamber Competition in 2021
and her triumph as First Prize winner in the Piano Trio category at the International Music
Competition Bonn “Grand Prize Virtuoso” the same year. Her victory in the TLI Art Center
Young Artist Audition and Winner’s Concert, along with a First Prize in Ruth Widder’s String
Quartet Competition in 2022, enriched her musical narrative.
Lee’s role as a Section Violinist with Symphoria in Syracuse, the Orchestra of Central New York,
since September 2023, enhances collective symphonies, and her orchestral journey includes the
role of Second Principal Violinist with the Bergen Philharmonic in NJ. Her skill as a Substitute
Violinist with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra further attests to her versatility.
Lee’s journey is etched with accolades. Notably, she stood as a Semi-finalist in the Indianapolis
Violin Competition in 2022, and as the Youngest Semi-finalist in the Queen Elizabeth
Competition in 2019. Her distinction as Fifth Prize winner in the Seoul International Music
Competition in 2018 and her achievement of Second Prize in the International Tchaikovsky
Competition for Young Musicians in 2012 illuminate her exceptional talent.
