Ben Gottfried, of Ben’s Player Piano Service, and Syracuse University Piano Professor, Ida Trebicka, offer a demonstration recital of the AMPICO reproducing piano.  Rachmaninoff began releasing piano rolls with his own performances for the AMPICO piano beginning in 1919.  AMPICO stands for American Piano Company which was based in East Rochester, New York. The Amphion Piano Company, based in Syracuse, NY, was acquired by the American Piano Company, and elements of their own reproducing piano were integrated into the AMPICO system.

This event is free of charge, however we recommend arriving early as space is limited.
