Darryl Pugh is currently a member of Symphoria and he has played the Bass with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra for over 30 years. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Berklee College of Music. Currently Mr. Pugh teaches at several local colleges including, Hamilton, Colgate, Syracuse University, Lemoyne, and OCC.
Some of his favorite composers are Elgar, Prokoviev, Stravinsky, and many more. He also enjoys many different musical periods throughout history.
Mr. Pugh’s greatest enjoyment when performing with Symphoria is the engagement with a live audience. He also believes that it is Symphoria’s duty to maintain a high quality performing arts organization in the area because it enhances the quality of life in general.
Mr. Pugh has been fortunate to be able to work in an eclectic mix of musical settings from Jazz to Latin to Club Music and more.
When he is not playing or teaching music, Mr. Pugh likes to participate in Nordic skiing and fitness swimming. For relaxation he enjoys a good glass of wine and also listening to audiobooks. Mr. Pugh also enjoys spending time with his wife Mary Ellen and sons Colin & Daniel.
